Drew, fondly known as our Big Brother Drewski, was indeed a gentle guide and thoughtful soul. His kindness, having led us through our years at Morgan State University, still shines distinctively in my memory. No doubt his absence will carve profound sorrow in our hearts, but may his jovial spirit continue to inspire all. Now he sails to the unseen shores, leaving remarkable reminiscences behind.

Drew, you leave a legacy amongst your family, friends, and peers that will never be forgotten. You were always very kind to my wife & I, and always pushed me to keep keepin' on. When you accept the position of coach when done correctly you try to connect the dots with your players and most of the time there is a connection for life. Drew Carr along with many in these pictures have become my family we’ve watch them grow, go to college, get married, have children, become grandparents this is the beauty of coaching in Roosevelt.
You always remember your first, first time riding a bike, first time scoring a basket or touchdown, or your first love of your life. I was ask to coach baseball Jr. High baseball by the late Harvey Palmore and it began. The introduction to Drew Carr. Since 1979 Drew Carr has been a part of my life the funny phone calls, the arguments on decision’s effecting his life, the love of his children and grandchildren and his lovely parents and his sisters and brothers. I don’t ask why I just continue to have faith in the Lord .
