Betty Ann Capers-Moses was born to the late Stewart Capers Sr. and the late Christine Burch on June 27, 1951 in Florence, South Carolina. She departed this life for her heavenly home on August 24, 2016. She has four siblings two preceded her in death her Brother Willie Capers and Stewart Capers Jr. And one older sister Barbara Toney(Amityville) and a younger brother Larry Capers(California). Betty's parents decided to move the family to New York where their grandparents Pastor Willie and Mother Rosella Burch resided. Betty gave her heart to the Lord and was baptized in Jesus Name at Highway Christian Church of Christ of Babylon, New York at 13 years old. Betty attended and graduated from Copiague High school in 1969 later she furthered her education at Stony brook University and received a BS degree in Biology, she also attended The Allen school in Queens and Old Westbury college receiving several other certifications in nursing, dietitian and phlebotomy she then became employed at the HIP center as a lab technician and then she later become a supervisor at Pilgrim State hospital she eventually had her own business as a care coordinator dispatching aides to homes for care. Later in life she would work for Enzo labs in Farmingdale going back to her first career interest as a lab technician. In High school Betty began her interest in piano playing and perfected it to the point of being able to play for several churches including choir directing and forming several of her own choirs. She loved songs by Andre Crouch like, "Can't Nobody do me like Jesus" and Mahalia Jackson," How I got Over". Throughout the years Betty was an dedicated and active member of the Apostolic faith such as The church of God and True Holiness Church presiding Bishop Johnny Storey, Refuge Apostolic Church Christ in Deer Park in the late 80's Pastor John Metz, Mt. Olive Holiness Church in Florence, South Carolina presiding Pastor Eddie Gregg and later on in her life she fellowshipped with Refuge Church of God Pastor Duval Medley in Jamaica, Queens. Mother Betty was a Woman of God who cared for others unselfishly she would make gift baskets and use her own funds to help others who gave to family and friends without question. She taught others to be strong minded and to believe that God would make a way out of no way all you had to do was pray. On December 25, 1995 she married Elder Eugene Moses of Roosevelt N.Y.; for 20 years it was Betty and Gene, the love and dedication for the two have overcome many test and trials, but through it all they remained One. Betty in her retired years continued to be an Entrepreneur and business woman by having an afterschool program, being a child care provider, a substitute teacher, and Notary Public. Betty loved kids she took special care of her nieces and nephews as well as her own and extended family. She took particular interest in children who needed guidance and help that is when she decided to become a Foster parent for 10 years. She leaves to mourn: her loving husband Pastor Eugene Moses; three dedicated daughters, Cynthia Cox-McAllister, Audrey Byrd and Angela Moses, One loving son Justin Moses. Two Grandchildren who affectionately called her "Nana" Keeara McAllister and Michael Cox, one sister Barbara Toney and one brother Larry Capers , one Grand Cousin Queen Burch and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
