Obituary of Agnes Wills

Please share a memory of Agnes to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
She prayed… and God answered! Agnes Christina Paul was the only child born to Edna Princess Waldron and Leland Alexander Paul on October 15, 1930 in Georgetown, Guyana; but by no means was an only child. Agnes was the eldest of 12 children. At age seventeen, Agnes met Rudolph Joseph Wills and after several attempts at "molin' up," he finally won her over. After ten years of pursuing their education and preparing for life together, they were wed on April 7, 1956. From this union came five daughters: Odette, Glynis, Sharon, Althea and Ilga. Agnes was formally educated at Smith's Church Congregational School and later attended Alleyne High School. She continued her studies and in 1951 entered a three year program at Georgetown Hospital to become a Registered Nurse. She spent an additional year preparing to become a midwife. Agnes migrated to the USA due to the high demand for Registered Nurses and to pave the way for her family to come to America. She was recruited by Unity Hospital in Brooklyn, New York where she was promoted to Head Nurse. In 1966, Agnes was reunited with her family. Rudolph returned after pursuing his Electrical Engineering degree in Canada and "Granny" and the girls joined them. Her responsible stewardship and ability to plan paid off. In 1968, The Wills Family moved to Queens where their girls began attending Bethel Gospel Tabernacle. On April 27, 1980, God answered the diligent prayers of her mother and children. Agnes and Rudolph gave their hearts to the Lord and they never looked back. How apropos that Agnes was called home to her reward on the 35th anniversary of her spiritual birth. She attended BBI and earned certificates for the Evangelism and General Bible programs. She established an ongoing volunteer corps of nurses for Camp Joharie. She sang in the Tabernacle Choir and freely lent her husband to serve the Kingdom. In 1991, Agnes and Rudolph retired and relocated to Ocala, Florida where they attended and served faithfully at Marion Oaks Assembly of God. There, she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, working in the nursery and leading women's prayer. Agnes leaves to cherish her memory, her children Odette, Glynis & Rodney, Sharon, Althea, Ilga & Hubert & Renee; ten grandchildren Estrella, Rodney II, Gylise, Iman, Micah, Djenne, Jadon, Schyler, Marc & Deja; siblings Derrick and Clement, (who proceeded her in death); Ian, Leland, Madge, Harry, Thelma, Roy, Joan, Lynette & Donna Paul; Egbert & Jean French; "The Gang" and a host of loving friends and relatives. Agnes knew and loved God's Word and recited entire passages verbatim. She was a praising, prayer warrior. When she prayed…God answered! She was an intentional planner, an incredible steward of her time, talents and especially her finances. Her envelope saving system was both miraculous and legendary. She loved her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her but nothing could compare to her devotion to "Dolph"! "Her children rise up and call her blessed." Proverbs 31:28
