Chris Vernard Brown departed this life on Sunday July 3, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Center New York. He was born on September 5, 1955 in Chadbourn North Carolina to Naomi Cribbs Brown and Kenneth Lee Brown. He was the fourth born of five children. Chris was five years of age when his family relocated to Hempstead, New York. He attended Hempstead Public Schools and later attended school in upstate New York. Chris participated and excelled in many sports throughout his years in Hempstead, New York. He was well known for his athleticism and a prowess on the field and the courts. He was also known to be a gentleman and an immaculate dresser. Chris was employed by Greenfield Cemetery, Jay Dee Transportation and several other employers. He will be remembered by his smile and love for family & friends. Chris leaves to cherish his memory his mother Naomi Brown, his sister Phyllis Brown Glenn, his brother-in law Willie, his brother Andre Brown, and sister-in-law Tina. Nephews & nieces, Iris Felicia Stafford & husband Darryl, Selina White, William Dwayne Brown & wife Shavon, Noel Lamont Brown & wife Marcella, Great nephews &nieces, Shaquille Brown, Juwan Brown Jabari Stafford, Shawan Brown, Sister Alanna Brown, Shayla Brown, Joshua Brown, two special cousins, Ricky Platt, Irvin (Marcy) Sutton Jr.and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by brother baby boy Brown, father, Kenneth Lee Brown and brother, Eddie Leon Brown.
