Ted Andrew Owens, Sr. was born November 7, 1939 in Princeton, West Virginia to the late Jake and Clarenda Owens. He attended Bluestone high school where he met Margie. After he graduated he attended business school and received a certificate to become a chief. He married Margie on January 10, 1960 soon after they relocated to Long Beach, New York. There Ted found employment at Long Beach Hospital as a dishwasher, he later received a promotion as a chief and then head chief, and in May 2012 he retired after forty-nine years of employment. Ted was a proud member of the masons he loved attending meetings and enjoyed fellowship with the brotherhood. He became a member of the St. Paul AME Church, there he sang in the choir and the male chorus. Ted departed this life on April 25, 2016 at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving devoted wife Margie Owens, his brother Bill Owens, five children, Stevie Owens, Ted A Owens, Jr., Deirdre Owens, Naomi Owens and Brenda Callabrass, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
