To Dr. Sylvia Purvis (Grandma) and Family:
Rev. Dr. Eugene H. Purvis, Sr., will forever hold a special place in my heart. I recall the days at Shaw Temple during his pastorate, he would pace the floor preaching under the power of the Holy Ghost. He was certainly one of a kind and I enjoyed the many hours he and I would spend on the phone talking about the good ole days. I counted it a privilege being able to be in his presence and being granted and honorary grandson. My Grandparents, James & Addie Fields loved Rev. & Mrs. Purvis and they remained friends until the Lord called them home! Sleep on General! Take your rest!
