Vurnetta (Foxworth) Mazyck was born on May 31, 1930 in Moncks Corner, SC to Quincy and Zella Foxworth. Their family also included her siblings Edward, Annie Mae, and Emma Lou. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at Greater St. James AME Church and began a lifetime of Christian service.

After many years living in the low country of South Carolina, they relocated to Freeport, NY. Vurnetta soon joined Bethel AME Church and served for many years as a member of the Stewardess Board. While caring for her family, she became a Nurse’s Assistant for over 20 years.

Vurnetta Mazyck was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, her siblings and her grandson Kendell Haynes. She leaves behind to mourn, her sons Stanley (Mary), Melvin Johnny (Kim), Marshall (Alea); grandchildren Martin (Uma), John, Tonya (Sylvester), Jamal (Vincent), Alyse, and great-grandchildren Kaavya, Adan, Jada, Justin and Jayden, along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, lifetime friends, neighbors and Bethel AME family.
