Obituary of Patricia Simpson

On Sunday, September 27, 2020 surrounded by family, our beloved Mom, Granny, Godmother, Daughter, Sister, Friend passed away peacefully. Blessed was the earth with the birth of Patricia Annette Simpson. Patricia was born in Oceanside, New York on April9, 1963 to the late Linwood Lilley and Elizabeth Lilley. Patricia, affectionately known to family and friends as "Tricia" or "Trish" was the sixth of seven children. Patricia was raised by her parents in Freeport, NY where she was educated through Freeport Public Schools. Patirica graduated from Freeport High School going on to obtain her Associates degree from Nassau Community College. Patricia enjoyed helping others. Tricia worked tirelessly in the healthcare field for 20 years. She specialized in geriatrics and worked at the rehabilitation section of Franklin General Hospital (now known as the Orzac Center for Rehabilitation in Valley Stream). She had a special touch and patience with elderly patients. She worked for six years doing home care for an elderly judge and his wife after she relocated to Atlanta. Patricia had a generous and caring heart and worked hard for her family. Tricia also had a sense of humor and was fun to be around. She loved meeting people and making new friends. Her smile will truly be missed. A life changing event happened in 2018. Tricia became a born again Christian. She joyfully committed her life to Christ and was baptized at Decatur Bible Chapel in Atlanta on April 8, 2018. She was diligent in learning the scriptures and growing in Christ and delighted in sharing her new found faith with family and friends. When Tricia became ill, she was blessed by the way her Decatur Bible Chapel family rallied around her. Tricia will be sorely missed. She was loved by many. Along with many other things, we will miss her funny sayings and how for the life of her she could not pronounce "straight." Patricia leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Elizabeth Lilley, her son Dajuan (Faiza), her son Saheim, her daughter Tonya(Tyrik), and son Derek. Her siblings: Sandra (Richard), Della, Linwood Jr., Darlene, and Deloris. Her grandchildren: Na'ilah, Haniyyah, Aaliyah, Supreme, Hezekiah, Harmony, Tyrik, Tyler, Taiwan, Malachi, Prince, Justice, Rahmel, Apriah, Kason, and Jahadi. She also leaves behind her prayer partner Cynthia Birks, God Daughter, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
