My cousin's smile could light up a room. When we were teenagers, I would say: Oscar show me those teeth. He would give me the widest smile and we would burst out laughing. He was the first person that I tested my cooking skills on. He claimed that I used too much salt, but he never turned down a plate. ONLY A COUSIN WOULD DO THIS FOR YOU: My mom had gone away and I was afraid to sleep in the house alone. I called Oscar to come over and instructed him that he could leave only after I had fallen asleep. Who else would do that, except a cousin who was more like a brother. Oscar escorted me to a few of my office parties. He fit right in; clowning, laughing and kicking butt at the pool table. At the end of the night, they were all calling him Cousin Oscar. Well Cousin Oscar, love you dude!

I had the pleasure of being both during our shared experience growing up in Long Beach. The fun times from grade school through high school and the reunions whenever I returned home to visit. You were always a pleasure to see and reminense about the good old times of playing basketball, getting into mischief as we progressed through life.
