Obituary of Evelyn Jones

Evelyn Jones was born on May 5, 1923 in Stella, North Carolina to Delzora Ward Jones and Robert Jones. She was one of nine children from that union. Evelyn moved to New York City as soon as she graduated High School. She came to New York to further her education and to be more independent. She went to college for a little while and then decided that she wanted to take a course as a Nurse's Aide, and she received her Nurse's Aide Certification. She eventually began work at Metropolitan Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. Evelyn loved working in the pediatric section of the hospital. She loved the children and the children loved her. She worked there for 48 years until she retired. Evelyn was a devoted and loving mother to Kenneth Richardson. She was kindhearted and always willing to help others. Evelyn loved her family and friends and always had an open door. She loved to cook and feed everyone. Evelyn was best known for her cakes and pies. Evelyn went from Labor to Reward on April 15, 2020 at the age of 96. Evelyn leaves to mourn with fond memories of love; Her son Kenneth Richardson of Brooklyn, NY, Brother, Ardell Jones of Central Islip, NY. and Sister, Ann Hunt, (George) of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren; great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and a host of relatives & friends.
