Obituary of Wesner Leconte
Please share a memory of Wesner to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wesner Leconte, lovingly known as “Wes” was born on September 2, 1932, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he was the first of four children to the late Jeanne Etienne and Michel Leconte.
Wesner Leconte was a loving husband, father, grandfather and man of God. His Haitian roots helped him to value hard work and the importance of providing for family. He worked diligently at 40-41 Realty Associates in Manhattan for 36 years and often worked a second job as a Security Guard with several companies. Wesner’s love and faith in God was undeniable. He always asked visitors to his home or on the phone if they knew God and if they attended church. He was a devoted and dedicated deacon at St. James Holiness Church in Brooklyn, New York for 24 years then continued serving at New Covenant Temple Church of God In Christ under the tutelage of Pastor Henry Rivers in Roosevelt, New York until his death. No matter whose church service he was in, if given an opportunity he would sing his favorite song, “Take Me Through, Dear Lord Take Me Through”.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Leitha Leconte, 2 brothers: Raphael Leconte and Michel(Rose) Leconte;1 son Ernst Jacky(Jacqueline) Leconte, 2 grandsons Hunter and Elijah Calhoun.
After a very short battle with COVID-19, on April14th, at 6:51 pm, the Lord called his servant by his name, “Wesner”, he answered. Blessed are they who die in the Lord for they go from labor to reward. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Mary Lourdes Leconte of Miami, FL; 3 daughters: Angela Marie Leconte Hudson, Lisa Leconte, and Asia Leconte; 4 sons: Jean Claude(Anne Marie) Leconte, Joseph Patrick(Carol) Leconte, James Leconte, and Alex Dinac Dorcuis; 3 beloved children: Amanda “Mindy” Walters, Crystal Dorcuis, and Stanley Dorcuis; 18 grandchildren: Melvin “Choo”, Angelique, Ayanna, Tommy, Adina, Amanda, Elissa, Jacky, Rickie, Claudia, Joseph, Francine, Christophe, Princess, Prince, Justin, Giselle and Malachi; 5 great grandchildren: Isis, Urhyness, Sara, Apollo and Noah; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; Special Friend Ms. Francis Campbell and Godson Emmanuel Ricketts.
