Vera Agatha Seifforth was born in Berbice, Guyana on March 11, 1913 to the late David and Kate Cromwell. Her siblings were Stephen Cromwell, Evril Jacobs and David Cromwell, all of whom are deceased. Vera attended Carnegie School of Home Economics in Georgetown, Guyana. While attending Carnegie, she excelled in dressmaking and made her profession for many years. Vera married the late Hermiston Seifforth, a commercial artist. Their union produced four children: Pamela Osbourne, the late Barbara Seifforth, Stanwyck Cromwell and Rosemarie Cromwell. Vera was a devoted mother and steadfast believer. Her faith in the Lord never wavered despite raising four children as a widow. In 1971, Vera migrated to the United States to be with her children and relatives. She was a caregiver to the elderly. She retired from home health care in 1990 at 77 years old. After her retirement, Vera enjoyed craft projects. Doll making and hat decorating were among her favorite hobbies. On January 18, 2016 Vera passed away peacefully. She is survived by her children Pamela, Stanwyck and Rosemarie. Her grandsons, the late Noel Osborne and the late Nigel Cromwell passed away in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Her remaining family she leaves behind are her grandsons Coswell Osbourne and Earl Holder, her granddaughter Camille Osborne, great granddaughter Alera Osborne, great grandson Noel Osborne Jr., nephews Maurice Jacobs and Robert Dey, niece Fredel Blakeney and a host of relatives and friends by whom she will be greatly missed.
