Obituary of Harrison James Thomas

Harrison J. Thomas, husband of the late Wilhelmina Wallace Thomas, was born on July 19, 1943 to the late Millard Thomas and Lenora York Thomas in Greeleyville, SC. Death came suddenly and peacefully to Harrison on October 13, 2019.
At an early age, the family moved to Florida where Harrison began his education at Croons Academy. The family later returned to Greeleyville, SC and Harrison completed his education at C.E. Murray High School. He was member of St. John 4-B Baptist Church before relocating to Philadelphia, PA.
On December 1, 1967, he was united in holy matrimony to Wilhelmina Wallace Thomas and to this union one child, LaKisha, was born. The family relocated to Elizabeth, NJ and then to Freeport, NY in 1980. Harrison was employed by Laidlaw Bus Company and Cheese Corp. retiring in 1998.
Affectionately known as "Mack", Harrison loved going on family trips, having large family gatherings, he was a sharp dresser, and enjoyed music and dancing.
Harrison leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Waikiki Guyton (3 kids) Cleveland, MS, Ricky Williams (Roslyn) (7 kids) Atlanta, GA, Jimmy Lamont Thomas (3 kids) Houston, TX, and LaKisha Thomas (2 kids), Freeport, NY, Kyionna Thomas and KeYarra Thomas, grandchildren of the home; one sister, Rosemary Thomas, Freeport, NY, two brothers, Reuben Thomas, Philadelphia, PA and Charlie Thomas, Melbourne, Florida; five sisters-in-law, Viola Thomas, Freeport, NY, Alice Thomas, Queens, NY, Estella Wallace, Troy, NY, Hellen Thompson, Greeleyville, SC, and Shirley Holmes, Myrtle Beach, SC; three brothers-in-law, Andrew Wallace, Troy, NY, Walter Thompson, Greeleyville, SC and Jasper Holmes, Myrtle Beach, SC; two Godchildren, Lee Wallace, Troy, NY and Kenny Dickson (deceased); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harrison was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Wilhelmina Thomas, one son, Anthony Beaufort; two sisters, Mamie Lee Singleton and Lillian Ernestine Walker; and one brother, Ricky Thomas.
