Jennifer was one of the quirkiest people I have ever met and I was fortunate enough to experience her presence as my professor. She was different in some of the best ways and was filled with the brightest passion for things that actually matter. Jennifer Henton is that woman you think of when you see the wrong in a mainstream society/system and want to subvert in order to make a change. I hope that she's in a place where she is calm and she is happy.

Wes, I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Jenn a few times but they have been very memorable. She was always full of joy and cheerful inspite of all the health battles she was fighting. I always remember that smile. You and Jenn have been so warm and kind to me and my daughter Simi when we were going through rough times and will always remember that. Grief journey is unique to everyone but just know it is a journey and you will soon start smiling at all the wonderful memories Jenn left behind!

Dearest and precious Jenn,
To you, I'm in awe for your life's legacy will shine bright forever in my heart. Your kindness the last time we ate lunch together was palpable. We talked heart to heart, the only way you knew to talk about the past, present and the future. We openly discussed memories and how we create them for one another. You were always that friend that could go deep into a conversation and then, just smile.
That smile is everything. It said what your heart felt and it was completely authentic. I will miss you on Lakeside, seeing you walk by and me jumping form my chair to bolt to the front porch to yell "Hey beautiful, what are you up to today?" I was always excited to see you 'home' in Florida.
Now, we are connected spiritually, there are things in this physical life I will miss with you here. But I also know that you are off onto your next big adventure to further touch lives elsewhere. May those who you find and find you bring as much joy as I've known in knowing you.
Much love to you and I promise to take tender emotional care and honest concern of Wes as his love for you transforms into loving and honoring you a new kind way. You are not forgotten and live on in my heart.

Wes, your Jenn was such a warrior in this life rising repeatedly from health battles that would have kept me down but not Jenn. She (with your love and support and by the grace of God) rose and returned to her life committed to you, her family, her work, her students, her colleagues and friends. Her strength and sense of humor throughout were a gift to all of us, and I know you will call upon these in the days and years ahead.
I for one, am forever committed to “throwing down in the kitchen” because of Jenn.
You are saying farewell to your beloved friend and partner for now, but I believe that our loving and eternal God has called her home to Him. I have been comforted these last months by the passage my mom chose for her funeral message which were words spoken by Jesus to his disciples. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2)
Jenn is home.
Love you lots dear friend!
