Obituary of Dejah Nariah Joyner

Please share a memory of Dejah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dejah Nariah Joyner was born on October 5, 2003 at the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY to Dameon and Keisha Miles-Joyner. Although life was seemingly short, Dejah's life was a testimony that it's not about the quantity of life but the quality of life. Dejah was a fun, loving and active little girl, who loved what most 12 year old little girls loved. She enjoyed playing with her many dolls. Dejah also loved playing school and always had to be the teacher. You could usually find Dejah riding her bike up and down Dartmouth Street and playing with other little kids. At home although she was the youngest, you would never know because she was always the boss. When Dejah wasn't home, you could often find her around the corner with her Nane aka Nana (She was the only one that could call her that according to Dejah). She would go to the store for her every day and always came back with her favorite bacon, egg and cheese. If Dejah didn't get a chance to go around the corner to see her, she (being the boss that she is) would call her every day to make sure she took her medicine. She really had a bond with her. Sometimes Nana had to say "You know I'm the great grandmother, right?" Dejah loved talking and texting on the phone. At any given moment, you could catch her on the phone or video chatting someone but everybody knows she didn't talk to anyone more than her daddy....she was such a daddy's girl. Dejah was outgoing and it showed in her personality with all her little cousins, especially her Union Baptist Church Girl Scout Troop 1134. Dejah leaves to cherish her precious memories; Her loving parents: Dameon and Keisha Miles-Joyner; Four siblings Niasia Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Dameon Joyner Jr and Zala Johnson-Rice; Her Grandparents, James Miles of Roslyn NY; Sharon King of Birmingham Alabama; David Joyner of Hempstead NY; Kym(James) Lindsay of Amityville, NY; Her loving great grandmothers, Delois Joyner(Nana) of Hempstead NY and Faye Lattimer(Bonner); Her loving aunts and uncles, Carol Nadine Miles-Lee(Dean), Melody Miles-Jenkins(Samuel) both of Westbury NY, Maurice King of Hempstead NY, Cierra Mcguire of Mobile AL, Kawanna Jenkins of Bronx, NY, Serena Lindsey of Pennsylvania and Ponakah Mouzon of Roosevelt, NY; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
