Obituary of Della Louise Robinson

Della Louise Robinson was born on September 28th, 1944 to the late Eva May Benjamin Jackson and Elijah Butler at St Matthews Hospital, South Carolina. She was a native of Orangeburg, SC who had attended the public schools of Orangeburg County, SC. Della graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1962. Della would then go on to marry the late Leonard Buskey and from that union two beautiful children were born; Ar-Rahman Buskey and Cassandra Buskey. She later received a college edu-cation and graduated from South Carolina State College in 1987.

In 1988 Della Robinson moved to Long Beach NY where she would attend Christian Light Missionary Baptist Church. In the upcoming years she met George Robinson whom she would soon marry. Before being appointed as deaconess Della served as an usher and choir member. Della also worked in the daycare department at the Long Beach M.L.K. center. She was an excellent contribution to the church and her community.

Della leaves to cherish her memories, son, Ar-Rahman (Maxine) Buskey of Long Beach, N.Y.; daughter, Cassandra Buskey of Savannah, Georgia, six grands, Marcus of Long Beach, N.Y., Ar-Rahman of Fort Myers, Fla., Josephine of Long Beach N.Y., Ferrin of Chicago Ill, Andrew of Long Beach, N.Y., and J’nae of Long Beach, N.Y., Two sisters Janie Buskey of New Haven, Connecticut., Martha Weststone of North, South Carolina. Eight sisters in-law: Baseemah Beyah of Washington, DC, Mary (Howard) Freeney of Silver Springs, MD, Marian (Robert) Sullins of Fitchburg, WS, Thelma (Arthur) Davis of Philadelphia, PA;; Dorothy Buskey of Mobile, AL, and Geraldine Buskey of Florence, SC., Mary Robinson Bamberg, S.C., Sheldonia Hubbard Brooklyn, N.Y., and two brother in-laws Herbert (Albertha) Buskey of Fayetteville, NC., and James Robinson (Josephine) Hempstead, N.Y., along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and, other relatives.
