Obituary of Ronald Perry

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald Perry, Sr. was called home to Glory on January 22, 2017. Ron was born February 8th 1955 in Harlem Hospital, New York, N.Y. and attended the Lower East Side Prep High School in Manhattan until the family relocated to the South Bronx. Later he took credits at Mercy College and subsequently received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. In 1972, Ron and Jeanette Kemp became parents to their gorgeous daughter, Shawana. In 1979 Ron married Deborah Smith, from this union two beautiful children were conceived: Ron Jr. and Chantal. Ron was always known as a mind mannered person, he had an infectious smile and a way with words that made you believe everything he said and he knew how to make anyone he encountered feel special. He had an affinity for nice cars early in life and often made a career of “borrowing” them for his leisure. Of course he had to give them back but often got in trouble for his penchant for luxury. Although he made mistakes along the way, he did two things for sure; he loved his family and he connected with people. His good friend and confidant, Rev. Reginald Benjamin was instrumental in helping him recognize his gifts and through that he was able to be a blessing to others. Several years ago, he was introduced to Pastor Lynnwood Deans and Bethlehem of Judea Church. There, he gave his life to Christ and started his new walk with Jesus. Ron found a second home at Judea and established more than friends, they became his second family. He enjoyed working in the sound room and just offering a helping hand. His youthful spirit, love of family, life and friends will forever be remembered. Above all; he loved and served the Lord. Left to cherish his memory are: 3 children, Shawana Kemp, Ron Perry Jr. and Chantal Perry, Siblings, Jacqueline Perry, Jacqueline Carter, Michael Perry and Annette Perry; Nieces and Nephews: Akil Shabazz, Shamika Bell, Alanna Perry, Talisa Carter, Nancyia Janessa Carter; Grandchildren: Rohn, Jada, Anyssa, Andrew and Zachary Blaney; Great Nieces and Nephews: Rahmik, Ismail, Shayna and Amir; In Laws: Larry Bell, John Polk, Neenah Sansarran, Norema Perry, Bruce Carter and a host of cousins, family and friends. (Pre-deceased) Mother: Elizabeth Perry and sibling, Joan Susan Perry Host of cousins, family and friends. Heartfelt mention to his Church family, the Bethlehem of Judea Church
