I knew Kevin since we both were 17 . I learned of his passing in January several months after he was laid to rest. Unfortunate loss.

Kevin was a very kind, caring, and compassionate person. I met Kevin when I started working at Empire Mutual Insurance Company in the 80's we were introduced by my manager and we had an instant connection. My first impression of him was how dapper he was, always dress to the nine, impeccable. I could always go to him for guidance when I have an unanswered question.
I was very impressed with his knowledge of so many different topics/subjects he was a walking Encyclopedia, I will miss hearing his voice and his laugh. Rest in peace, my dear beloved distinguished brother.
Always in my heart, your memory will live on.

It is hard to think about the "original 19" first cousins without Kevin. At least 5 of us were born in a row, each one year apart from one another, with Kevin, as always, leading the way.
Kevin's presence brought joy and happiness, not just to his cousins and friends, but also to all the Allen aunts and uncles.
We pray he will live with them, and with the 3 cousins who preceded him, in God's light and the eternal peace that passes all understanding.
With heartfelt condolences to all,
Patti

We always admired the way Kevin dealt with his medical challenges with grace, dignity and belief in the Lord.
We also witnessed his "Shaken, but not stirred" accidental dive into the baptismal pool, which he handled in true Kevin form. :-)
He was a power of example in his faith to all of us.
May he rest in peace.

Kevin A. Smith was a beloved member of a large family. His mother, Maggie Allen Smith, was one of six siblings, and from those brothers and sisters came the "Original 19 First Cousins." We all grew up together and were close. This includes the West Coast part of the family, with whom we kept in close contact and visited as often as circumstances would allow.
Kevin was always the "life of the party" and his humor was legendary. The East Coast contingent of family had the privilege of enjoying cousin Kevin's company very often. We all have fond memories of him through the years as a hardworking good natured person. But, not to be forgotten there is also the fun side: Kevin was a Lifeguard at Wilson's Woods Swimming Pool; for the ladies he was our honorable escort for NYC social gatherings; and as always, he was the center of attention at regular family gatherings.
When a dear family member passes away it is very important to remember and embrace ALL the parts of "A Life Well Lived."
Kevin will be missed more than words can describe.

I have the fondest memories of my Godfather, he inspired me so much with his vast wealth of knowledge of the world and people. His shared some amazing stories with me and always encouraged me to be the best version of myself and live in my truth.
I'm blessed to have had him in my life and learned to grow as an individual with his guidance, love, support.
His smile and memory will forever live in my heart!
His legacy will live on as a testament to how we all should treat each other and love one another.
Deepest Sympathy,
Godson Brentin
