Venil Anthony Branford Obituary
It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Venil Anthony Branford, who departed this life at the age of 54.
Born and raised in St. Ann, Jamaica, Venil was a man whose warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He possessed a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and appreciated. His jovial nature, kind heart, and congenial personality brought laughter, comfort, and friendship wherever he went.
Venil carried the values and traditions of his Jamaican roots with pride throughout his life. As a young man growing up in St. Ann, he developed a lifelong passion for sports, particularly soccer and cricket, both of which he enthusiastically played and enjoyed. His love for soccer never faded, and he remained a devoted supporter of Liverpool F.C., faithfully cheering on his beloved Reds through every triumph and challenge.
Professionally, Venil served as a School Aide with the New York City Department of Education at Benjamin Franklin High School. He approached his work with dedication, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping students and colleagues alike. His presence brightened hallways and classrooms, and he built meaningful relationships with those he encountered every day.
Above all, Venil will be remembered for the way he treated people. He was generous with his time, his kindness, and his encouragement. He had a gift for bringing people together, sharing a laugh, and lifting the spirits of those around him. His life was a testament to the power of friendship, community, and love.
Venil leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Shirley Brooks; his beloved daughter, Vinikay Branford; his son, Dimitri Martin; his brother, Donavan Branford; and his sisters, Dalia Branford-Livingston, Janeisha Branford, and Tamara Branford. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we choose also to celebrate a life well lived—a life filled with laughter, loyalty, service, and compassion. The memories Venil created, the lives he touched, and the love he shared will continue to inspire all who knew him.
His legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest in eternal peace, Venil. You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
